Charlotte Square & Advocate’s Close Shortlisted For RIAS Awards

Posted on March 25, 2014 by admin

We are delighted to share that two of our recently completed projects at Charlotte Square and Advocate’s Close have been shortlisted by the RIAS for their 2014 awards. Both projects have been recognised for their exceptional design and impact on their respective areas in the New Town and Old Town in the heart of Edinburgh.

Of Charlotte Square, the judging panel commented that “This prestigious development deftly connects a row of restored townhouses with new-build. The covered, linking, courtyard is an appropriate transition between the restored townhouses and the contemporary block behind.”

In reference to Advocate’s Close, the panel added that the redevelopment is “Urban weaving at its most complex, connected into the existing patterns of Edinburgh’s upper Old Town, the project connects refurbished historic properties with new-build. A substantial mixed development, full of interest.”

The two projects are amongst a total shortlist of 26 across Scotland. The award winners will be announced in June 2014.
