yesterday’s new visions for edinburgh presentation was held at the scottish arts club on rutland square. anthony mcdonnell, director of morgan mcdonnell architecture ltd, was one of three speakers at the event, which was arranged by the scottish arts club with the cockburn association. also speaking were nick paterson of paterson architects and eugene mullan of smith scott mullan. last night’s event focussed on living spaces, while future events on 21 and 28 february will focus on working spaces and public spaces.
anthony mcdonnell presented information about the practice’s past and current schemes, including primary one, a refurbishment of a former school building as residential accommodation, shrubhill, the redevelopment of the former transport depot on leith walk, 16 waterloo place, the refurbishment and extension of former council buildings to form 37 residential units, and the scheme to redevelop land and buildings surrounding advocate’s close in the old town.
