to the rear of the property, a glass and slate extension was created with integral stair leading to the garden. 

this modern yet visually coherent structure provides new focus for the rear of the property, and is a refined counterpoint to the traditional sandstone construction of the main tenement rear.  

alongside the new external stairway, the classical dressed archways in the ‘folly wall’ were opened up to create new perspectives. 

a new ornamental pool, situated beneath the glass stairway, adds a breathtaking dimension to this urban space.
