all of the buildings on the site have been altered since their original construction, many unsympathetically. this has led to buildings which have a noticeable disconnection from their surroundings, a lack of harmony with the overall cityscape.

the scheme will reinstate various architectural features which formed part of the 'original' site. on warriston's close itself, the upper massing of the former mclaren and sons building will be reinstated, which currently appears conspicuous by its absence.
