the development at 16 waterloo place sees the regeneration and redevelopment of the old post office in the centre of edinburgh. designed in 1819, the old post office was part of the development of the east end of prince's street, and was built to designs by prominent scottish architect archibald elliot after a masterplan by robert adam. the building was gutted by fire in the 1950's and rebuilt with a concrete frame, with an eight storey extension added in the mid 1960's. the building, which was in use as offices for the Scottish Executive, was acquired by our client bl developments in 2002, based on our designs for conversion to residential use.
