Cumin Place Extension In For Planning

The planning application for a new extension at 15 Cumin Place has been submitted to the City of Edinburgh Council.  The proposal sees the removal of an existing conservatory and the partial removal of an existing extension from the rear of the detached villa, with the construction of a new single storey element across the full width of the existing building. The space will accommodate a new kitchen and dining area, together with an informal lounge.  The extension will also wrap around the side of the existing villa, providing space for a utility room, cloakroom and an external store. The enlarged layout will afford an additional bedroom and shower room to be accommodated on the ground floor with the existing building. A new garden summer house will also be built as part of the proposals.

The new construction will be finished externally in stone cladding, while the retained stonework of the existing extension will be restored and repointed. A large glazed opening will provide a natural transition from internal space to the outside garden, while a large area of roof lights will provide a high level of natural daylight into the space.
