Scotland’s First Pit Stop Launches

Posted on July 1, 2014 by admin

The latest Blackcircles Pit Stop, and Scotland’s first, is set to be launched this week at Glasgow’s Silverburn shopping centre. Construction work on the new tyre changing facility started 5 weeks ago and was handed over on the 27th June. The first customers will have their tyres fitted on Tuesday 1st July.

The Pit Stop is the 4th installation in a UK wide rollout in association with Tesco. The first 3 can be found south of the border in Milton Keynes, Bar Hill in Cambridgeshire and Handforth in Cheshire. This latest installation will make the revolutionary new tyre fitting experience available to Scottish customers for the first time. We are delighted to be involved in the ongoing design and delivery of these unique facilities, and look forward to seeing many more across the country.

The two latest Pit Stops have been completed and are now fully operational.  Located in Handforth, Cheshire and Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire, these are the first of the ‘3 bay’ designs to be built, each capable of processing 3 cars at any one time.  The UK roll out is set to continue with the next Pit Stop due to be installed in Watford in the New Year. Launches UK’s First Pit Stop

Posted on July 10, 2013 by admin has launched the first of it’s new Pit Stop facilities in Milton Keynes, England.  The Pit Stop, designed by Morgan McDonnell, opened it’s doors to customers on Monday 8th July and is the first of an anticipated national roll out across the UK.

The Pit Stop is a joint venture between and Tesco, adopting the same site as a decommissioned Tesco car wash facility on a petrol forecourt site. The principle is very similar to that of the car wash, where customers arrive, drop their car off while they do their shopping, to return to their car with new tyres.

We have worked closely with to develop a design that is geared towards efficiency both in construction and operation. The prefabricated cabin houses all of the required tyre changing equipment, a staff area and an area where customers can book future appointments. The lightweight curved canopy not only protects those working on the cars from the elements, but also acts as a distinctive beacon, intended to be synonymous with the brand.
