8-12 Torphichen Street Gets Planning

We are pleased to announce that Planning Approval, Listed Building Consent and Building Warrant for 8-12 Torphichen Street Edinburgh has been secured on behalf of  Stone Acre Projects Ltd. Located in the West End Conservation Area and originally constructed as 4 dwelling houses but latterly occupied as offices, the proposals will return this elegant Grade B Listed building to residential use, retaining its historical and architectural character and features, including unusual mirrored symmetrical stairs and timber panelling. The approved layout consists of 11 unique studio, one and two bedroom apartments, with a small office of the lower ground floor.

Marl Lodge Gets Planning

Full Planning Permission has been granted for a new house in the grounds of Marl Lodge on the Argaty Estate near Stirling. The site straddles a historical fault line, therefore two solid stone masses have been arranged at a slight angle to each other, as if pushed into place by the movement of the earth’s crust. These blocks are reminiscent of traditional Scottish Brochs with vertical circulation contained within the mass of the enclosing walls and are connected by a lightweight glazed double height hallway. The open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen enjoy uninterrupted views across the estate and beyond. A sustainable design approach will be adopted, with a number of low or zero carbon technologies being incorporated.

And recently we have got planning consent for no 52 Newbattle Terrace…. which extends the original scheme at no 50 to create 18 fantastic 2 and 3 bed flats all with secure off street parking and south facing terraces.

Newbattle Terrace Gets Planning

We are delighted to reveal that our proposed residential development on Newbattle Terrace in Edinburgh’s Morningside neighbourhood has been granted planning permission.

The project, for client Wemyss Properties Ltd, will see the replacement of an existing unsympathetic residential building with a new proposal that consists of 11 dwellings; a combination of 5 no: 3 bedroom flats and 6 no: 2 bedroom flats all with south facing terraces. Underground parking for 13 cars and 22 bikes has been included in the scheme which also includes a south facing garden to the rear.
