It was a successful night at the Scottish Design Awards as Charlotte Square scooped the prize for ‘Re-Use of a Listed Building’.  Our Advocate’s Close project was also commended in the ‘Regeneration’ category. Both projects were up against stiff competition within their respective categories, and are up for Best Building in Scotland at the RIAS Awards later this month.

The full list of winners on the night can be found at the Scottish Design Awards website.

Devil’s Advocate Features As Coolest New UK Bar

The Devil’s Advocate is featured in the top 10 list of the coolest new bars in the UK in a rundown compiled by Esquire magazine.

The bar, one of only 3 to feature in the list situated outside of London, opened in November 2013 and has already gained a reputation in Edinburgh as one of the city’s hotspots. The interior design, inspired by the rich history of the area in the Old Town, particularly the Enlightenment period, has been shortlisted for a Scottish Design Award and incorporates many of the reused materials from the larger Advocate’s Close development that surrounds it.
